Movement Class at Loculus Studios

11am - 1pm
$15 - $30 sliding scale
As we shift into fall, we’ll rest, play, dream, shed our skins, make creative containers and let them spill over. We’ll work with embodied practices that unfold — breath, sound, touch, writing/drawing, moving without knowing. We’ll fuck around and find out what invites us to be present in the moment as it deepens or dissolves or transforms.
No dance experience needed, just a willingness to start from where you are. Accessibility: The studio is up a flight of stairs. A portable air filter will be running during class, and windows will be open for airflow. Testing and/or masking is appreciated. If you’ve been exposed or feel sick, please stay home and rest.

This workshop provides an overview of Super 8mm filmmaking as it relates to the dancing body. In the workshop, participants look at the anatomy of the camera, measuring light, frame rate, aperture, choosing lenses, and loading film into the camera. After looking at the technical aspects of the camera, the attendees work in groups to workshop frame composition and create a shot list together.

Artist Roundtable: presentation and conversation

Our first ever Artist Roundtable brings together four local artists/organizations working across dance, conceptual art, design, and event curation. Each presenter has been asked to speak about one of their influences or inspirations as a way in to discussing their work and practice.
